My Near-Death Asthma Experience

I'll always remember Christmas Eve, 1967, when I was 10 years old.
That's because within 30 minutes I went from wheezing to being unable
to draw any air into my lungs. I had every belief that I would die,

started to drift between an extreme fear of dying, to thoughts of what
heaven will be like, to missing my family, and back to pure panic.
Looking back I'd guess that it was triggered by an allergy to the
Christmas tree.

I next remember laying on the blue back seat of our Ford Falcon
(above), being rushed to the Doctors office by my Mom, going in and out
of consciousness. I didn't think I would make it. However a shot of
adrenaline from the Doctor saved my life by to relieving my frozen
lungs.

I Needed Drastic Help

My Mom took me to an allergist where I discovered I was severely
allergic to:.
* Dogs, Cats and Horse Hair (I already knew horses and dogs were a
trigger)
* Dust, Mold, Mildew
* Pollen (almost every kind)
* Corn and Wheat
* Peanuts
* Any many more...

This was my Doctors protocol:

My life was then built around Doctors appointments, drugs, inhalers,
injections, and the current state of my allergies. No sports and
extreme care playing outside. Playing in the leaves would bring on
asthma. I had to avoid many foods and places where triggers might
exist.

I spent more time going to different Doctors and Allergists for the
next several years trying to get some relief than just being a kid.

Doctors Gave Up On Me But I Wouldn't Quit.

I refused to live like this. I wouldn't live like this. Perhaps I was
too young or naďve to resign myself to half a life, and the prognosis
of the Doctors. Somebody, somewhere had to know why I had allergies and
asthma. What was causing this? As I asked many, many Doctors what to
do, or why I was different, it just seemed to create more questions
than answers. This seemed just crazy.

Q: Why are some people allergic and some people aren't. Is it
hereditary? There's more to it than that...

Because I was so bad, and nothing was working, some of the Doctors
began to say:

"Maybe you'll grow out of it"

I credit my Mom with being open to finding a different approach. She
took me to a Naturopath, and I took myself to several nutritionists.
While that didn't work it gave me new ideas. SOMEBODY, SOMEWHERE HAD TO
HAVE AN ANSWER TO ALLERGIES!

My Quest For A Cure

So it was that at the ripe age of 16 (in 1973) that I began my search
for alternative answers. Back then nutrition and natural health was
considered quackery. But I was desperate and willing to try anything.
For the next few years I read hundreds of books on health, and went to
hundreds of Practitioners.

A partial list of what and who I tried included:

I believe that if you want something bad enough, or pray enough, with
total determination that life will begin to bring you answers. At age
19 I discovered a very eccentric Doctor in Utah, a genius, who
identified the cause in my body for my allergies and asthma in minutes
(more on how he discovered the cause so fast in the book). What he told
me made so much sense, was so simple and logical I was just floored. I
